Our Lady of the Resurrection Monastery

Monastery

"The workshop where we are to toil faithfully at all these tasks is the enclosure of the monastery and stability in the community."--Rule of St. Benedict

Our Lady of the Resurrection is the dwelling place of a small monastic community located in the state of New York. The community is a spiritual family where the monks, united in charity, lead a life of liturgical and private prayer, of manual work and hospitality, of study and Sacred Reading, of silence and solitude, of humility and obedience, of simplicity and renunciation. The life is based on the Gospel and the fifteen centuries old Rule of Saint Benedict, and is particularly inspired by the early monastic tradition received both from the East and the West. The wisdom of the Desert Fathers and the teachings of the Fathers of the Church are an integral part of our formation and of our daily monastic life.
