Please note that the hours for the gift shop are now on Sundays between 2pm-4pm. Visitors are invited to ring the bell alongside the entrance door to the monastery for assistance.
The monastic handcrafts created at the monastery are offered to the public at the tiny Saint Joseph's shop. In the silence and solitude of the monastery, the products from our Atelier Monastique are crafted daily with utmost attention. All of our products are fabricated with natural materials, and all consumable items are made from organic ingredients grown in our own gardens: dried herbs, herbal teas, pesto sauce, tapenade, chutney, jams, tomato sauce, apple sauce and apple butter, salsas, and relish. We also have five collections of handcrafted cards: the Christmas collection, the Desert Fathers and Mothers collection, the Benedictine collection, the monastic collection, and the Psalms collection. The highlights of every year are the Vinegar Festival and the Christmas Craft Fair. The Vinegar festival is always held on the weekend following the Feast of St. Benedict on July 11. The Christmas Craft Fair is held after Thanksgiving on the first two weekends of Advent. The monastery products are also available at the Millbrook Farmer's Market and the Arlington Farmer's market (across from Vassar College on Raymond Avenue) from the end of May through October.
